Dr. Aravind Gubbi

Dr. Aravind Gubbi is a well known and qualified Endoscopic Surgeon in Bangalore, specialised in endoscopy, colonoscopy and gastroenterological diseases. He also has a special interest in liver, gall bladder and pancreatic diseases. Dr. Gubbi has considerable experience and expertise in the diagnosis and management of loose stools (diarrhoea), and passing blood in stools due to haemorrhoids (piles) and fissure. He is Managing Partner of Gubbi’s - Centre for Endoscopy, Colonoscopy and Gastroenterology, located at Vijayanagar in Bangalore. A compassionate, patient-friendly, nature-loving personality, Dr. Gubbi is passionate about wild life photography and golf. He has developed a special closeness to children, due mainly to his wife being a Paediatrician. For him, to smile is always the essence of life!

Dr. Aravind Gubbi is a respected member of the Indian Society of Gastroenterology, Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy of India, American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), American Society of Gastroenterology, and the Indian National Association for Study of the Liver. He has been regularly attending various national and international conferences in Gastroenterology over the last 12 years to sync with the latest updates, and is widely known among his peers.

In the past, Dr. Gubbi has served as Senior Surgical Senior Surgical Resident, Department of General Surgery, JSS Medical College, Mysore (during MS). Subsequently he was Hon. General Surgeon at KC General Hospital in Bengaluru, Consultant General Surgeon at Sahana Hospital in Kengeri Satellite Town, Bengaluru, and later Consultant Endoscopic Surgeon at Sahana Hospital. He is also the Managing Director of Sahana Hospital. In addition he is a Fellow of the International College of Surgeons (FICS), a Life Member of the Academy of Hospital Administration (MAHA), and has held executive posts of the highest level at the Private Hospitals and Nursing Homes Association (PHANA), Bengaluru.

Dr. Gubbi has performed several thousand diagnostic endoscopies and colonoscopies and well over 1,000 therapeutic endoscopies. He is trained in PROXIMATE Staplers, and his elective operating lists consists of both major and minor surgical procedures including cancer and routine surgery, approximately 250 cases per year. He has special skills in endoscopic techniques in managing upper GI bleeding due to various causes, retrieval of impacted foreign body endoscopically, placement of PEG, excision of colonic polyps and banding of internal haemorrhoids endoscopically. Dr. Gubbi has special training in endomucosal resection technique for large colonic and gastric lesions and has been practicing this technique since late 2006.
